Desktop Metal, Burlington MA, Materials Engineering Co-op

Desktop Metal designs and markets 3D metal printing systems. I worked in the Process & Materials group during my time there.

​

• Participated in materials development through testing, analysis, experiments, and data collection, resulting in the success of 4140 and 17-4PH steel to DM’s material product line to be used on all three of DM’s printer products

• Developed and presented a company-wide additive manufacturing and metallurgy training class including 14 presentations and 11 hours of lectures to teach and reinforce knowledge of Metallurgy at DM

• Designed and implemented three new versions of retort (sintering furnace hardware) in SolidWorks for DM’s MIM

Sintering Furnace to be sold to customers and used internally

• Designed powder collection parts and storage components in SolidWorks for DM’s 3D metal printers to eliminate and

recycle unused and overflow powder, thus improving part quality

Demand Management Institute (DMI), Needham MA, Mechanical Engineering Co-op

Jan-Jun 2021

DMI is an energy efficiency consulting firm for commercial, industrial, institutional, and large scale residential facilities. I worked alongside the mechanical engineering consultants during my time there.

​

• Performed energy-efficiency savings calculations for refrigeration, HVAC, and lighting applications for 20+ clients across

the New England area, resulting in the successful implementation of energy efficiency measures

• Developed a streamlined savings calculation excel tool for utility companies in New Hampshire, ultimately adopted across

all three major utility companies in NH (Eversource, National Grid, Liberty)

• Collected data and performed post-installation site reviews for performance evaluation and data verification

• Presented comprehensive strategies in client meetings for reduced energy consumption

• Drafted reports and energy savings recommendation documents delivered to clients and utility companies
